Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the Horarium mobile application (the “App,” package com.TheGuayabaCompany.horarium) handles your information. The App is provided by the developer of Horarium (“we,” “us”). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
The short version: Horarium has no user accounts and asks for no name, email, or password. Everything you create stays on your device. Basic, anonymized analytics and crash reporting help us fix problems and improve the App; none of it is tied to your identity or includes the content of your routines or tasks.
Contents
01Information we handle
We designed Horarium to collect as little as possible. We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or precise location. The information involved falls into four areas, described below: data that stays on your device, basic anonymized analytics and crash data, a diagnostics export you can choose to share, and purchase records handled by Google.
02Data kept on your device
The routines, tasks, schedules, alarm settings, QR codes, and preferences you create are stored locally on your device in the App’s private storage. We do not upload, sync, or have any access to this content. If you uninstall the App or clear its data, this information is deleted.
03Analytics & crash data
Horarium uses Google Firebase Analytics and Google Firebase Crashlytics to help us diagnose problems and understand how the App is used. This is on by default, we rely on it to find and fix bugs and understand which features are actually used, and it is limited to anonymized, aggregate information: it is never tied to your name, email, or any account identifier (Horarium has none), and it never includes the text of your routines, tasks, or notes.
This covers two things: crash and error reports, and anonymized, aggregate statistics about how the App’s features are used: for example, roughly how many routines or tasks you’ve created, reported in broad ranges rather than exact counts.
Firebase may also collect standard technical information alongside this: your device model, operating-system version, a resettable per-install identifier, and an approximate region derived from your IP address. Crashlytics records technical crash details (such as a stack trace and device state) to help us fix problems.
04Diagnostics export
Separately from the analytics described above, Settings includes a “Share diagnostics” action that composes a plain-text report: your app version, device and Android details, permission status, and a short on-device log of recent alarm activity. Because this report is meant to help troubleshoot your specific setup, it can include the names of your own routines and tasks.
This report is never sent automatically; it is only created and shared when you explicitly tap the row and choose a destination through your device’s share sheet.
05Purchases
Horarium offers an optional “Pro” upgrade. All payments are processed by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your credit-card number or other payment details; Google handles the transaction and shares only whether a purchase succeeded, so the App can unlock Pro features. Your purchase history is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
06Permissions
The App requests certain Android permissions strictly to deliver its core features:
- Alarms & notifications (exact alarms, full-screen intent, notifications, display over other apps): to ring your alarms and show them on time, even on the lock screen.
- Camera: used only to scan QR codes you choose to set as task gates. Images are processed on your device in real time; no photo is saved or transmitted.
- Run at startup & ignore battery optimizations: so scheduled alarms survive a reboot and are not delayed by power-saving.
- Foreground service, wake lock, vibrate: to keep an active alarm running and playing reliably.
The camera permission is optional; if you do not use QR features, you can decline it and the rest of the App works normally.
07How we use data
We use the limited data we collect to operate and maintain the App, understand which features are used so we can improve them, diagnose and fix crashes and bugs, and process and validate your purchases. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your data.
08Sharing & third parties
We do not sell or rent your information. The only third parties involved are the service providers that make the App work:
- Google Firebase (Analytics & Crashlytics): see the Firebase Privacy & Security page.
- Google Play Billing: see Google’s Privacy Policy.
We may also disclose information if required to do so by law or valid legal process.
09Retention
Data stored on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the App. Analytics and crash data, when enabled, are retained by Firebase according to Google’s default retention periods. The diagnostics export you create and share yourself is retained only by you and whoever you choose to send it to; we do not automatically receive or store it. Purchase records are kept by Google for as long as required for the transaction and applicable record-keeping.
10Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will address it.
11Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Because the App does not tie data to your identity, the most direct controls are in your hands:
- Delete your on-device data at any time by clearing the App’s storage or uninstalling it.
- Request deletion of previously collected analytics data by sending us a diagnostics report (Settings → Share diagnostics) with your request.
- Manage your purchase in your Google Play account.
To make a privacy request or ask a question, contact us using the details below.
12Security
We rely on the security of the Android platform and of Google’s services to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to safeguard the limited information involved.
13Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
